𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲?

I've now been playing hockey for 24 years.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲?

I picked up a hockey stick for the first time when I entered secondary school. I had been a hurler up until that point. At the time Kilkenny College had Saturday school, so I'd always miss hurling training as it was a Saturday morning. So I swapped one stick and ball sport for another.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫?

I play for Kilkenny Hockey Club.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐲?

A couple spring to mind. 1- playing at the All Ireland Boys Championship with Kilkenny College. 2- winning the Irish Trophy Cup with Kilkenny men's team in 2016.

I first started coaching in 2012. I'd say it was 2017/18 when it became my full-time job.
