*Laois 1s v Our Lady's Templeogue (Away) Cup Shield 22nd February 2025*
Laois Hockey 1s faced Our Lady's Templeogue in the Cup Shield on Saturday. Laois were strong from the get-go with a number of attacks on goal early in the 1st quarter. After a number of short corners, Laois managed to get a score on the board early on with a lovely goal from Rachel Igoe. Laois pressed their advantage at this point and went in pursuit of another goal but, in spite of more short corners and well-worked passages of play, their next goal didn't come until the second half when Susan Fingleton finished a lovely short corner to make it 2-0. Our Lady's did their best to fight back and find scores and looked likely to get one only for some nice defending from Laois defenders and keeper. As Our Lady's began to run out of time to get back into the game, Laois sealed the deal with a goal from Emma Brophy to make the final score 3-0 to Laois Hockey 1s.
