Laois 1s faced Avoca 4s on Saturday in Loreto Kilkenny. The game started off fast-paced with intricate passing and threatening attacking from both sides. Laois 1s dominated the 1st quarter, but Avoca pushed back strongly in the 2nd quarter.

There were numerous attacks on goal by Laois, but it wasn't until the 3rd quarter that we found the backboard with a beautifully controlled reverse-stick attack from Orla Burke.

Avoca tried hard to level the game and nearly managed it in the final quarter only for a tricky save from keeper Aisling Byrne. Final score 1-0 to Laois HC. Laois 1s face Glenanne in a Cup Match next Sunday 28th January at 5pm in Loreto Kilkenny.
