Laois Inters 1 emerged 1-0 victors in a tough Division 1B match against Our Ladys in Terenure on Sunday February 25th.

Early in the first half, we had 5 short corners in a row but unfortunately the ball wouldn’t cross the line.

Soon after, Our Ladys turned the ball over and quickly broke down the pitch. They then spent some time in our D. They got off a shot on goal but it was well cleared by our defence.

We were soon back down the other end of the pitch, and won 3 more short corners close together but, again, no joy.

In the second half, we were again dominant and most of the action was in their half of the pitch. Our Lady’s goalie pulled off some more good saves before a clever pass from Rachel to Lily to Katie finally got us on the board.

We continued to push for a second goal but this was met with strong resistance, as they sought to equalise.

They won a short corner in our D and the final whistle went. Another short corner was called immediately after. Much to the relief of our defenders, it hit the foot of an Our Ladys player, which meant the end of the game.

Every player in our squad played well and we were delighted to come away with the win.
