Our Laois 2s were also in action over the weekend as they kicked off their 2024/2025 Leinster Division 10 campaign v Trinity 4ths at home in Kilkenny on 21st September 2024.

Laois Ladies 2s came together in Kilkenny to face Trinity Ladies in their first league match. The team started strong and with a great tempo. 

There was lovely passing between midfielders Orla, Mikayla Penny, who were working the ball up the pitch. An unlucky goal in the second quarter left Laois ladies one behind. 

Despite this, the Laois ladies did not drop the tempo and there were some action in the circle from the forward line, with Julie picking up some great ball from midfield. 

The second half was a much more impressive half with the team coming together. Laois back line combo of Charlotte and Lily did great work clearing the ball out of our 23 and swiftly up to the mids Averil Una and Penny. 

Another unfortunate goal meant Laois fell twoo behind however the ladies worked hard and had lots of positive plays. The newest recruit to the team, Pam moved up to forwards and in the last five minutes Laois dominated in the circle but were unlucky for the ball not to find the backboard. 

The match ended 0-2 yet there was many positives to take into the next match and the rest of the season. A special mention to our two new debutants Una and Pam who is pictured below with newly elected Laois 2s Captain Evana. 

Laois 2s are in action again next weekend with an away fixture against Pembroke Wanderers 8ths.
