Laois made the journey to Dublin this week to face Pembroke Wanderers in the second league match of the season.
The game started with a very strong Pembroke attack. Lots of lovely clearing on the left from Claudia and Mikayla. Mother and daughter duo Ruth and Penny Wilkinson held the centre of the pitch in the first quarter. In the second quarter the Pembroke attack was strong, however the Laois back line kept them at bay.
Some good attacking runs by Lauren and Caitríona got Laois in the circle a few times. In the third quarter Laois began to gel and there were some great link ups between Poppy and Evana on the left hand side of the pitch. By the fourth quarter Laois were in the circle a lot but found it hard to find a break to score.
Pembroke came back strong in the last quarter but thanks to Eimear and the stellar back line the match ended in a scoreless draw.
