Laois 1s travelled to Rathdown School to face Monkstown on Saturday 30th November. Both teams started strong with excellent teamwork and attacks on goal. 

Both sets of defence worked valiantly to keep out the attacks which left the score 0-0 at half time. Monkstown finally broke through the strong Laois defence into the circle and eventually found the backboard after a few intense minutes. Laois fought back immediately and were unlucky on several occasions not to equalise. 

Final score was 1-0 to Monkstown. 

Well done to newcomer Ania Van der Merwe on her first match for Laois Hockey Club!
