After a week of being snowed in the Laois 2s made it out to Wicklow to fave Wicklow HC. As this was the first time many of ours had picked up a stick since before Christmas the first quarter was a bit scrappy. Despite this there were good balls being sent up the field by Eleanor which Gloria and Penny got on the end of. Wicklow had a strong attack but our defence line kept them at bay.

In the second quarter the link up play became clearer from backs to mids. Charlotte and Tara remained calm on the ball clearing it out to the wings. There were so go breaks in midfield with Evana sending the ball up to the mother and daughter duo Tania and Ania however wicklow block every attempt to get in at the circle 

Laois came into the third quarter guns blazing and won a short corner within a few minutes. Pam injected and Eleanor hit from the top and there was no stopping that ball going in. The Laois ladies continued to great attacks on the circle with our other mother and daughter duo Ruth and Penny making great links from mid to the forward line.

The last quarter Wicklow came back to try to find that equaliser but we blocked by Marina and her back line. At one point there was a succession of at least 4 short corners which were all well controlled. After a hard fought last quarter the final score was 1-0 to our ladies 2s.

Laois 2s will face Botanic next week in Kilkenny at 12pm
