*Laois 1s v Navan (Home) 25th January 2025*
After a delayed start due to a frosty pitch, Laois 1s faced Navan at home in Loreto on Saturday. A special thanks to groundskeeper Eamon for clearing the remaining frost to ensure players' safety. Laois pushed on from the start and were very dominant in the Navan circle, winning a number of short corners in the first half but were unfortunate not to score from them. Navan fought back but to no avail as Laois seemed to be everywhere they turned. Despite being reduced to 9 players at one point due to injuries, Laois still managed to press on and remain dominant, continuing to win short corners and had a number of shots saved or hit the post. Finally, in the final quarter, yet another short corner allowed Rachel Igoe and her aunt Emma Brophy to work the ball between them which led to Rachel finding the net and a lovely score for Laois. Laois remained dominant for the remaining quarter and the game finished 1-0 to Laois.
