Laois 1s travelled to Muckross park college on Saturday to take on Muckross 4ths. Laois showed intent from the first whistle and a great break from the half way by mairead duggan gave laois the lead. Duggan cooly slotted the ball past the keeper to make it 1-0 at half time.
The defence along with goalie aisling Byrne came under increased pressure in the 3rd quarter but a solid performance kept muckross out. Laois then increased their lead to 2-0 after an unbelievable shot from mairead duggan hit the net. In the final quarter laois pushed for a 3rd but the game finished 2-0. 
Laois 1s will be out in their first cup game next weekend.
