Laois 1s travelled to Dublin to take on Avoca 4s on Saturday.  A game laois new would be tough and a slow start from the travelling team meant avoca were 1-0 up after the first quarter.

 Laois came out much stronger in the 2nd quarter and were unlucky not to have equalised by half time. A great cross from Mairead narrowly missed the stick of Molly.

Avoca came out with intent in the 3rd quarter and a quick break from the home team left the score 2-0 going into the final quarter.

Laois kept pushing and were very unlucky on a number of occasions not to score, a break down the left by Flo and Orla forced a great save from the goalie. Karen Fingleton led the attack from the back for the final quarter and the forward line led by Louise Cantwell threw everything at Avoca but unfortunately another quick break from the home side resulted in a 3-0 defeat for laois.

For the first time this season laois 1s had 4 sets of sisters in action!
