On the last game of 2025 for the LHC 2s team, they welcomed Railway Union 5 to Loreto Kilkenny. The Laois team consisted of the experienced players of Evana, Jenny, kellie, Charlotte, Eleanor, Averil, Emily, and Gloria matched with the youth of Ciara, Poppy , Sophie, Abbie and Molly. We welcomed back last seasons captain Evana  into the goalie pads where she was kept busy by the very strong attacking opposition.

With an exchange of attacks from both sides, we saw the first half end at 2-1 to the away team. Laois goal came from some lovely interlinking play from Gloria and the right mid position of Sophie, who carried the ball to the base line and passed into the D where she found the stick of the ever skillful Gloria.

The team kept the work rate up, and Emily was unfortunate her shot on goal hit the goal post and rebounded out. The second half saw the laois team pushing forward more, and despite some short corners and strong attacking play from both wings, the scores weren't coming our way. Railway took advantage of the high play and broke on several occasions to finish the score online 4-1.

The team continues to build momentum and the progress in this first half of the season is evident.  Looking forward to the beginning of 2026.
