Laois ladies 2s played their first match 2026 vs. Clontarf 4ths away. Dusting off after the Xmas break, the team started the game with some great passes from mid field trio of Lily, Ciara, and Emma. Clontarf pressed hard through the centre with their attack, testing the backline Pam, Vicky, Kellie, and Charlotte. Daisy was also called into action on the goal line. Some quick ball up the wings allowed for good runs by the full towards of Molly, Zoe, Sophie. 

The first goal came from a pick-up by Sophie at the top of the D, followed by a quick pass to Zoe to see her slide the ball pass the opposition goalie. Mikalya on the left side gave the team some effective attracking options allowing for several more D enteries. However the end of the 2nd quarter  Clontarf  scored from a short corner to have the sides level at half time. A switch up front had Molly  take up the centre mid position while Ciara continued the forward attack. 

A quick succession of link up play from the sister duo of Molly and Lily allowed Ciara time to carry the ball into the D and send a strong shot pass the goal keeper. Despite the team  defending strongly and clearing their lines toward the end of the game, the equaliser came. The team kept the rallying, but despite numerous attempts on goal, we were unable to change the scoreline 2-2.  Home game next weekend
